Review: Lite - Out To Lunch
Posted by Belvi on Jan 29, 2010
Young talent is nothing new on the L.A. scene. But Lite is different. Lite is a complex concoction of hood bravado and soulful compassion. In his latest project, Out To Lunch, the remarkable thing is how subtly he shows both. He is fearlessly honest. Everything from poverty to masturbation, which are not hallmark topics in rap no matter which way you slice it. Out To Lunch is wrought with so much humanity that his every-man-sensibilities can give the feeling that he is reading your mind. It has almost limitless range to jump from "Smoke to That" to "Golden" to "Never Over". Lite is also a brilliant storyteller. All over, if graded:

Lyrics: 9

Flow/Rhyme scheme - 9

Style - 8.5

Beat selection - 8.5

Listenability - 8.5

Overall = A

Lite is a young talent you be hard pressed to find an accurate comparison for. But download Out To Lunch and judge for yourself.
