We are proud to present Vann Clayton in our first webisode featuring a producer. He's behind many of the Spliff alumni's hits and we used his beat "Get Large" for our intro directed by Phil Davis. I've been a fan since. You can usually catch him at the bi-monthly BANANAS event organized by VerBS where he's produces mean beats live. Vann talks us through some of his collaborations with H.O.P.E, Kail, VerBS and CP. He also tells us about his relationship with acclaimed producer Warryn Cambell and his school years with Nipsey Hussle. A big shout out to Stephanie Rennie who did a great job editing the webisode.
It's that time again, as the spring rears its head for the new decade, we have the PAID DUES line-up. I'm hella excited to see ICE CUBE (could this be the return of the Westside Connection?). I'm also glad to see THA DOGG POUND reunion show. DAZ & KURUPT are some of the illest emcees on the westcoast. A BIG GROUP to watch is RANDOM AXE - BLACK MILK GUILTY SIMPSON & SEAN PRICE. Shout out to MURS, STRONG ARM STEADY, DILATED PEOPLES & DEL THE FUNKYHOMOSAPIEN for keeping the westcoast indie scene on top. It's nice to see DOM KENNEDY, DUMBFOUNDEAD, & HOPIESPITSHARD on the bill as well. They definitely deserve it.
It's been a while since we uploaded some new webisodes. There's a few more coming up down the line. This is kinda special... it's the first EVA interview we shot. Shout out to everyone who helped us. Intuition is dropping his new album "Girls Like Me" in a week, his album release party is on Wednesday at Low End Theory. GO! We were told at last Spliff that VerBS & Intuition were making new material for their fruitful collab. You can always check them out here for VerBS and here for Intuition. Go download The Buzz, one of the best projects to come out of 2009.
Final part of the Swiff D interview. To be fair it's only a few minutes during which Swiff D hails Nipsey as one of the greatest L.A has to offer. He also calls out Nipsey to work with him, lets hope it happens people!!!
Diz Gibran's opening performance for the Haiti benefit concert organized last Sunday by Devi Dev and the LAX Paper Boyz at the Echoplex. I thought it was very befitting.
In the second part of this interview, Mibbs from Pac Div explains the kind of connection that unites the group to Swiff. Swiff talks about the meaning behind the title of the album "Church League Champions" , and the upcoming album "Grown Kid Syndrome", amongst many other things.
I think it's a pretty rad interview that gives a lot of insight into this group we expect a lot from. Shout out once again to all the Pac Div team for letting us film and Val for doing a great job.
The beats are of course by Swiff D from his new mixtape Basic Cable. Download it I highly recommend it.
It only takes one video... Shout out to Blu for giving us an "exclusive" kind of interview, I know it's quite rare, and shout out to Val for conducting it with passion. Shout out especially to the Pac Div team for welcoming us at their Xmas Toy drive. It was an event on behalf of the Hollygrove agency and we're grateful to have been a part of it.
Blu talks about his 2010 projects, sounds kinda exciting and inspring for hip hop (is not dead). For all those out there who don't know us yet, stop sleeping and come and connect!
VerBS & Intuition rocked The Spliff. I have tons of stuff of them coming up, namely a webisode. Don't ask me why it hasn't been out yet. Maybe cause it was the first interview ever that we did and yall gonna laugh at us. Thanks to The Takeover blog that provided me with the name of the song. It's sweet and short & worth checking out.
As we posted previously Pac Div's in house producer Swiff D just dropped a mixtape of beats for hip hop aficionados and others; we were lucky enough to catch up with him at Pac Div's Christmas Toy Drive for the children of the Hollygrove Agency. This is probably the first in depth online video interview of Swiff D and shout out to Val the Vandle for conducting it. It's also our first producers' feature. It gives a pretty strong insight into the relationship Swiff has formed with the Pac Div members over the years - one of the most current successful hip hop collaborations out of LA (and in general). Part 2 gives a bit more crunchy details, so you'll have to wait for that dropping tomorrow... A big shout out to the Pac Div Team for welcoming us at the drive, we have tons more interesting footage coming up thanks to them.

Yep so the interview should come out soon, we were chuffed to be able to do it. Got some great footage of the West Coast champions performing as well.
This could be one of our best eps of the series... you to judge. Shout out to TiRon, we have more stuff with him coming up, shout out to Stephanie who did a really cool editing job, looking forward to more collabs, and shout out to Cary who's most recent credit was working on Snoop's latest video and who did the favour of helping us here..
