Proof you can be one of the most talked about band and still be creative nearly every day of the week. This BBC version of Sandwitches is plain hilarious as Tyler & Hodgy change their lyrics and jack up their style, a far cry from the now infamous performance on The Late Night Jimmy Fallon Show. Check out the body moves at the end.
And here's their other BBC performance of Analog. Both those singles are on Tyler, The Creator's latest album Goblin which I suggest you cop because as far as hip-hop music.. it's here to stay.
Big Krit wuz here and he gave me a lil interview, I think it gives an idea of his vibe more than anything else. He explains amongst other things the "country conscious" style he reps and why it's important. He's also an energetic performer, and "I Just Touched Down" was def my SXSW anthem seeing him perform it in so many different places. (also performing Moon & Stars here with Kyleon &Country Shit)

We interviewed Aloe a little while back (check it here) while he was performing at the B52's in Downtown L.A. with his band The Big Scheme. Our homie producer Kevin Roosevelt was on board for the night on the drums. Aloe closed his set with his hit song "I Need A Dollar" : even though he performed that song live on illustrious BBC show with Jools Holland ( see Paul McCartney and other Black Sabbath? guy watching him) it wasn't quite that nice long jam session we were able to capture. Shoutout to NAHRIGHT for posting the video before we even did!

Rebecca and M Boogie go to Kokane's album release party... Rebecca forgets she has her roscoe on her, M Boogie is trying to identify all those hand signs...
Seriously it was exactly four months ago, as a follow up to Rebecca's great profile on OG veteran Kokane (Can Kokane Get An Amen), we headed to Burgundy House. Here's the most featured ever rap artist - Kokane - with Suga Free.

I picked this particular clip because of the clear interaction between Black Milk, the band and the audience. In her review for the LA Weekly, Rebecca made the point that Black Milk was like a conductor. I think that comparison is on point; he certainly got the crowd going in a way I've rarely seen in LA.
Interview coming up soon.

West Coast in da house...for the final days of L.A. hip hop institution Fat Beats that helped launch so many careers.
A BIG thank you to Randy, Joe, HouseShoes, Rhettmatic from Fat Beats for accomodating people like me who were here to document some of it. Thanks to the cops for not shutting the house down... they waited until Sunday night. It was an insane evening that left us wanting for more.

Pac Div LIVE performing "Shine" from their latest mixtape Don't Mention It at The Roxy Ft. (in her 1st performance eva) Marz Lovejoy. Unfortunately for Marz the mic was kinda off at the beginning of the performance, it still was a cool moment and an opportunity to see her vibe with the boys.

First video from the show at The Roxy on Sat. Introducing young Kendrick Lamar from Compton. This song stayed stuck in my head for a day "P& P" stands for... well why don't you figure it out. I hear some of the hip hop veterans stayed with a stone face during that song (check Rebecca Haithcoat's tweets) It could be just an interpretation.... I like its humurous side, I see his point AND the verses are dope.
Enjoy!
