This is the typical case of an under the radar emcee, which translates well in the way he uses social media. Co$$ is Leimert Park's finest.

Issa Rae is mad talented. We featured her before as the director behind the "F Word" series with The Fly Guys. Her latest web series "The Mis-Adventures of Awkward Black Girl" is a confirmed hit and landed her a great deal of attention both from the media and the TV industry. Needless say I am part of her incredibly vocal and devoted fanbase which has enabled her to successfully raise over $56,000 to carry on with the series. Go #ABG! Yeah!

Where the talented rapper/producer from The Pack talks about  being ultra creative, an introvert, The Pack, Imogen Heap, rapper vs producer, and not being your standard rapper.

Big Shout out to The Fader & Freak City for letting us film.

I discovered Huzzah two days before Mr Mutherfuckin' Xquire was in town. I knew I had to interview him... Since he dropped "Lost In Translation" and the mixtape goes in hard!

Here eXquire breaks down for us what he stands for, how Danny Brown tweeted his video, being from Brooklyn and how he's never met Necro.

Shout out to Adam Weiss for putting on the Going Ham event at The Echo.

Big Krit wuz here and he gave me a lil interview, I think it gives an idea of his vibe more than anything else. He explains amongst other things the "country conscious" style he reps and why it's important. He's also an energetic performer, and "I Just Touched Down" was def my SXSW anthem seeing him perform it in so many different places. (also performing Moon & Stars here with Kyleon &Country Shit)

J*DaVey is a kick ass group from LA who was part of Fusicology's top five performances at SXSW, they have huge personnality and they are constantly evolving musically and creativally which makes you wonder where they'll go next.

Merc80 managed to get hold of both Brook & Jack Davey (props to him for this rare opportunity) just before they kicked of their current tour. They talk in the first part about their Warner situation, and in the second part about collabs amongst many other things. In my interview with Jack Davey she mentions the reaction by the Curt Kobain estate to their cover of Teen Spirit, the Internet & creative process and Blu.

Go listen to their (free) EP here

The West Coast Enigma speaks to LA Stereo.TV on the spiritual reason The Roots sought him, his first label release and album credits that'll "be worth reading," (Samiyam, Flying Lotus, Exile, Cherry Pop, Sa-Ra Creative, U-God...) and why he chooses to be part of the electronic hip-hop genre.

Shoutout to Stephanie Rennie, Phil Davis, Inka One, Bianca G, Mainframe, J. Kevin Swain. Also a BIG shout out to Jasmin from takingyouover.com for her invaluable contribution.

Three days after the official closing of Fat Beats LA the LA Stereo team went to interview Joe Abajian, its founder. We throught it was important to reflect on the closing of this physical landmark in the hip hop community. The end of the retail store encapsulates how the industry is changing and the story of Fat Beats is intertwined with the story of independent hip hop.

We wanted to know why the store had closed, what could have been done to save it (part 2 coming up). We also reflected on some of Fat Beats' strong legacy and in Part 1 above Joe describes the beginnings of the retail.

Shout out to Randy Nkonoki for helping us set up the interview. And visit the online store to carry on supporting GOOD MUSIC.

Rebecca Haithcoat in her first on screen interview talks with Fashawn about the real Santiago, how he draws strength from his stage name, and how someone so young can come up with such raw emotion. If you haven't already cop "Boy Meets World" it's a jewel.
