SXSW iv w/ Miss Jack Davey + Merc80's ivs w/ J*DaVeY

J*DaVey is a kick ass group from LA who was part of Fusicology's top five performances at SXSW, they have huge personnality and they are constantly evolving musically and creativally which makes you wonder where they'll go next.

Merc80 managed to get hold of both Brook & Jack Davey (props to him for this rare opportunity) just before they kicked of their current tour. They talk in the first part about their Warner situation, and in the second part about collabs amongst many other things. In my interview with Jack Davey she mentions the reaction by the Curt Kobain estate to their cover of Teen Spirit, the Internet & creative process and Blu.

When Belvi wrote our statement it was mentioned we'd also document fashion on the LA scene. I"m delighted to introduce Cali Madison's evening wear line Jriaan  to LA Stereo. I became familiar with it thanks to the feature she had in Westside Storyy and it kind of left me wanting for more...She describes her work as "avant-garde" evening wear and what struck me the most is how she's doesn't strive for facility in her quest for an original style. If you don't know Rebecca Haithcoat, get familiar! She's our inhouse journalist coming from the South. She just wrote an ill portrait on VerBS, a piece about the (non) death of hip hop, and dished the dirt about our lil time with Wale.

URBANSALT Launch Party this Saturday

So as a end of the year project, I've launched with three of my classmates a urban fashion website curating the LA street style called URBANSALT (it might be down for half a day).

We're officially launching on Saturday, we're having a party at Culver City. Val will be djing, T.U.S (Ash & Darrin) will be doing live art. It's open to all, come and support us!

It's free, there will be photographers on attendance, come (RSVP here) if you are part of that group, you want to be featured, you are a stylist or you just want to attend. You can also hit me up at mboogie@lastereo.tv There will be prizes, free sweets, etc.
