We caught up with Action Bronson while he was in LA working with the Alchemist. The Queens native cooking chef turned rapper in just two years, talks about how the kitchen helped him become a rapper and how he's achieved success in so little time; jumping on a joint with Ghostface remotely and the comparisons peope keep making between the two; the collaboration with Alchemist; his relation with his fans and his mom...

Action Bronson has been rapping for only two years and he's already linked up with Statik Selektah for his new album dropping tomorrow and when we interviewed him three weeks ago he was in the stew.. working with Alchemist. The Queens based rapper is making some heat based of his emcee skills he first honed as a cooking chef. Sounds unclear? Wait for our interview dropping soon. 

Both The Jealous Guys and Phlo Finister have in common being from the Bay Area (The Jealous Guys are from SF and Phlo moved from Oakland to LA when she was young). Maybe it's for that they also both love London, the 2nd birthplace of the 60ies cultural revolution. Until I interviewed the Jealous Guys today I never thought of London and San Francisco having that cultural connection but it actually makes a lot of sense. Finally The Jealous Guys and Phlo are also label mates on 3QTR that also manages Odd Future and a very diverse rostrum of artists. We will be featuring Phlo & The Jealous Guys but until then, chekc out their dope music/visuals... both referencing Lundunum.

Well not exactly, but check out their latest video "La Flemme" it's a little visual masterpiece ( about being too lazy to do anything including brushing their teeth, smoking a joint and how they would rather die because it's so grey outside etc) The 1995 are four rappers and a DJ, they built their reputation by doing freestyles, being hilarious young and irreverent, dropping videos etc. 1995 is a reference to the golden era of hip hop they aspire to.  theyThey're unsigned and buzzing... more to follow.

Pardon me for just jumbling artists together because they're grimmy and theyre from NYC but at least they're exciting!! Mr Mutherfucking Exquire has his first LA show tomorrow (with Skeme, Young L, 87 Stick Up Kids & CBG) again I'm excited...

Yup the instruments are banging on this Nas "remix" with Elzhi on it. I still don't get the need to pay countless tibutes to Illmatic but the quality of the rapper and of the arrangements speak loud enough... so maybe i should just shut up. Big Up Detroit we see you as always.

Met up with New Orleans born brothers The Knux in SXSW and their latest video just came out. Here talking about Fuck It or is it Fuck You, the Internet culture..., drugs... Their album will come out in June 21. Check out Miss Jack Davey's cameo in the video, she's so up!

Big Krit wuz here and he gave me a lil interview, I think it gives an idea of his vibe more than anything else. He explains amongst other things the "country conscious" style he reps and why it's important. He's also an energetic performer, and "I Just Touched Down" was def my SXSW anthem seeing him perform it in so many different places. (also performing Moon & Stars here with Kyleon &Country Shit)
